Getting Started with Twi

Introduce yourself and others — say hello and welcome, tell someone your name, ask another person’s name, and introduce family members.

Learn the sounds of Twi — explore the 22-letter Twi alphabet, identify the seven vowels, and practice connecting letters with their sounds.

Use respectful everyday greetings — greet people at different times of day, use respectful titles, ask “How are you?”, respond, and keep a simple conversation going.

Everyday Conversations

Talk about wants and preferences — say “I would like…”, ask “Would you like…?”, and reuse familiar sentence patterns with new vocabulary.

Invite someone along — use “Let’s + verb” to suggest everyday activities like going, eating, playing, or dancing.

Ask and answer “Where is…?” — practice describing where something is located.

Describe the world around you — learn common colors and use them with familiar objects.

Numbers, Shopping & Market Day

Count and use numbers — practice numbers 1–20 and count by tens to 50.

Learn about Ghanaian cedi currency — recognize how money is used in everyday situations.

Practice simple market conversations — ask “How much?”, talk about prices, and use familiar phrases while shopping.
